Short Take: HomeGrocer inks $60 million deal with AOL

Online grocery site HomeGrocer.com has signed a $60 million agreement to become America Online's Internet grocer of choice. The agreement will showcase HomeGrocer on AOL's proprietary service, CompuServe, the AOL.com Web portal, Netscape's Netcenter, local guide Digital City and AOL MovieFone. HomeGrocer operates in Seattle, Portland, Ore., Orange County, Calif., and Los Angeles; it plans to expand to eight to 10 more areas within 12 months.
