Short Take: @Home software supports USB

High-speed Net access provider @Home Network released the new version of its client software, @Home 1.6, which supports Universal Serial Bus (USB) port technology. Cable installation technicians can now plug a USB Ethernet adapter between the PC and the cable modem and avoid installing an Ethernet card in the computer. @Home said the move will save time and money and is the first step toward allowing users to install and provision @Home's broadband service upon retail availability of standards-based cable modems.
