Hitachi America announced a high capacity slimline notebook disk drive. The DK226A-32 drive delivers 3.24GB of storage in a package not much larger than an audio cassette tape, said the company. The drive has a 12 ms average seek time and weighs about 5.3 ounces. Sample quantities of the drive will be available in April, priced at $595 for a single evaluation unit.
