Short Take: High-capacity recordable DVD disks ready

Maxell announced it expects to begin shipping evaluation samples of new high capacity DVD-RAM II recordable disks to manufacturers. The disks will sell for $45 for the 4.7 GB single-sided version and $70 for the 9.4 GB double-sided version, big enough to hold a two-hour digital movie. Disks can be played in DID video players and DVD ROM drives.
