Short Take: Hack blocks 2,000 Alaskans from Net access

Alaskan Internet users were blocked from or had limited access to the Net Sunday night following a hack on ISP Internet Alaska, the Associated Press reported. Roughly 2,000 users were affected by the so-called smurf attack. The ISP is the largest in the state, the AP said. The firm is not sure what sparked the attack, but it suspects the perpetrator was angered by an online exchange with an Internet Alaska user.
