Greenwich Mean Time-UTA today
debuted Data Patrol, which protects PCs from Year 2000 corruption
before and after January 1. Data Patrol, a suite of applications that includes PC and client server versions, works as a sentry at the
critical data and exchange levels. Much like a spell checker, Data
Patrol monitors incoming data from many sources, including the keyboard,
floppy disk, CD-ROM, email, LAN, and Internet. It flags 2-digit
dates and can prompt the user to correct them on the spot. Pricing for
Data Patrol starts at $29.95 depending on volume, the company said.
