Short Take: Gay.com forms alliance with NYT division

Reinforcing its position as the leading provider of quality products and interactive services for gay and lesbian consumers, Gay.com has formed a multi-year, strategic alliance with Times Company Digital (TCD), the Internet division of The New York Times. The strategic alliance expands Gay.com's access to daily news, content and mainstream contributions from various sites within the TCD network, including feature stories, book and film reviews and food and wine critiques provided by such sites as NYTimes.com, Boston.com, NYToday.com and WineToday.com. Gay.com will also be able to offer its members access to Abuzz, TCD's interactive knowledge network. Gay.com syndicates content and services to more than 2,500 affiliates and has distribution and advertising partnerships with TCD, Yahoo, LookSmart, CMGI and AskJeeves. Investors include Chase Capital Partners, Flatiron Partners and IDG Ventures.
