Short Take: Gartner Group pinpoints data with new technology

Technology research firm Gartner Group said it plans to launch eMetrix, a new standard for measuring transactions conducted between businesses and their suppliers and partners via the Internet. Gartner, which has built its own measuring and monitoring system using technology and products from InfoRay, said it will help businesses pinpoint data that they should measure, or specific so-called pain points, and essentially tailor a measuring system that fits their specific needs. Pricing for the system starts at $100,000, the company said.
