Short Take: Garage.com files for IPO

Garage.com, which places early stage investments in start-ups, today filed for an initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Guy Kawasaki, who gained notoriety as the Apple evangelist, heads up the investment firm. Earlier this week, the firm received $27 million in financing from a group of institutional and private investors. Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse First Boston and Robertson Stephens will manage the offering.
