Short Take: Frontier uses Pirelli equipment to expand capacity

Frontier Communications will use hyper-dense wavelength division multiplexing (HDWDM) equipment from Pirelli Cables & Systems to expand its capacity on fiber networks in Frontier's 20 largest markets. The new TeraMux equipment will quadruple the speed and capacity on Frontier's fiber optic network, allowing the emerging carrier to handle up to 16.5 million simultaneous phone calls.
