Short Take: Former Sun and Apple execs join to form Ridge Technologies

A team of former top managers at Sun Microsystems and Apple Computer have joined forces to form Ridge Technologies, a Silicon Valley startup specializing in solutions for the rapidly expanding storage subsystems market. Ridge will focus on high-quality, easy-to-administer, lower-cost and highly available storage solutions for the mid-range NT server market, with emphasis on RAID (Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks) and Fibre Channel technologies. The company plans to ship its first products in the first half of 1998.
