Short Take: Former Cosmo Software president joins Microsoft

Kai-Fu Lee, former president of Silicon Graphics' Cosmo Software unit, is joining Microsoft as director of the software giant's advanced interactive systems. SGI recently instituted plans to shut down the Cosmo unit, which designs 3-D technology, after efforts to sell it to Sony fell through.
