Short Take: European travel site Ebookers to buy U.K. agency

European travel site Ebookers.com agreed to buy London-based Flightbookers for $15 million, the company said. Flightbookers, a 17-year-old travel agency, provides fulfillment services to Ebookers in the United Kingdom. Through the acquisition, Ebookers will cut the costs associated with outsourcing such services and gain access to Flightbookers' 220,000 customers. Ebookers--which operates in 11 countries, including France, Germany and Ireland--was spun off from Flightbookers in June of 1999.
