Short Take: Emperative offering broadband provisioning software

Emperative, a communications software maker, will next week announce new high-speed, or "broadband," Internet connection provisioning software. Emperative's new software, called ProvEn DSL, enables digital subscriber line (DSL) service providers to allow customers to immediately self-activate new services or order more bandwidth via the Internet, without having to call the company and wait for a technician to manually modify the account. Redback Networks and Copper Mountain have tested the software for compatibility with their equipment.
