Short Take: DSLnetworks offers free security

DSLnetworks, a provider of high-speed digital subscriber line (DSL) Internet connections, has introduced free network-based firewall security software for all customers. The system, based upon equipment from Nortel Networks and called NetSentry, is intended to secure users' PCs from "spoofing" attacks, in which hackers can gain access to files or commandeer the PC for other uses due to its always-on connection. NetSentry will be available immediately, except in Southern California where it will debut later this year.
