DoubleClick, a network of advertisers that provides detailed profiles on Netizens based on their surfing habits, today took Net advertising to the next step by announcing it would launch a test of a system in which advertisers only pay for ads that are viewed. DoubleClick will allow advertisers participating in the beta test to pay per click, per lead, per sale, or per download. The idea is to make advertising a no-risk proposition, according to the company.
