As expected, domain name
registry Name.Space appealed a
federal court's decision to dismiss an antitrust case against Network Solutions, which has an exclusive
government contract to register ".com" and other top-level domains.
Name.Space filed the suit in March 1997, and earlier this month Judge
Robert Patterson ruled that the company was immune from antitrust laws
because it is acting at the behest of a federal agency.
