Short Take: Diamond Multimedia responds to RIAA allegations

Diamond Multimedia has filed a nine-point response to the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) allegations that Diamond has violated the Audio Home Recording Act. The response fuels an increasingly heated battle over Diamond's Rio PMP300 player, which the RIAA claims is promoting the illegal distribution of music downloaded off the Internet. In October, a federal court denied the RIAA's request to temporarily halt Diamond from shipping Rio.
