Short Take: Detroit Free Press launches local guide

AllDetroit, a Net guide to Michigan, was launched by the Detroit Free Press, providing local news, auto industry news, links to Michigan Web sites, maps, yellow pages, classifieds, and a search engine. Stock quotes, market data, and personal portfolios also are available. AllDetroit enters a crowded market, where players CitySearch, Sidewalk, and Digital City already have established regional guides. The New York Times launched its local guide, New York Today, earlier this month.
