Microsoft and Cisco Systems announced that work to integrate servers, network services, and network-based applications into directory services software will be turned over to the Desktop Management Task Force for adoption as an industry standard. The effort, dubbed Directory-Enabled Networks (DEN), was launched last year by the two high-tech giants. More than 60 companies took part in a DEN meeting last week to discuss the latest developments.
