Dell CEO Michael Dell received a hefty compensation increase in 1998, as the computer maker's financial performance improved last year. Dell received a 40 percent increase for annual compensation, according to an SEC filing. He received a 14.5 percent salary increase, to $788,462; a 53 percent bonus increase, to $2 million; and other compensation of $12,409. Like the previous year, he also received 3.2 million options.
