Short Take: Dell adds USR's x2 technology to its PCs

Dell Computer will offer U. S. Robotic's Sportster Voice internal modem with its Dimension desktop PCs early next year. USR's Sportster modems with x2 technology offer connection speeds of 56 kbps. Dell currently offers the Sportster 33.6-kbps modem on its Dimension PCs. The modems feature fax and data capabilities, voice mail with multiple mailboxes, remote voice message and fax retrieval, fax on demand, caller ID, and a speakerphone.
