Short Take: Corel, HCC complete deal

Corel Corporation and Hardware Canada Computing have completed a deal announced in January under which HCC took over Corel's NetWinder Linux computers. Corel got a 25 percent ownership of HCC, which builds its own line of UltraSparc-based Unix systems and resells other companies' Unix and Windows NT machines. Of the 73 employees in Corel's NetWinder division, fewer than 12 were laid off, about 25 went to HCC, and the rest stayed with Corel.
