Consumer groups, in a filing to FCC Chairman William Kennard, are seeking "an expedited rulemaking or other proceeding" regarding their push to open cable companies' networks to competing Internet service providers. The group includes Consumers Union, the Consumer Federation of America, and other organizations. "The FCC can do something useful to protect consumers, or it can do nothing. We want some action," said Jamie Love, executive director of Ralph Nader's Consumer Project on Technology.
