Short Take: Computer Sciences protracts outsourcing deal

Computer Sciences has announced a two-year extension to an IT outsourcing contract with Hughes Electronics, a provider of digital television entertainment and wireless systems and services. The original seven-year deal, announced in January 1995, is now extended to December 2004, the companies said. The new agreement, which will continue to cover Hughes's networks, desktops, help-desk, and applications maintenance, is valued at approximately $60 million over two full years, the companies said.
