Compaq Computer unveiled its $999 Presario 1200 XL-450 notebook computer, available immediately. The Presario 1200 series is powered by an Advanced Micro Devices K62-450 megahertz processor and is equipped with 32MB of RAM and a 5.9GB hard drive. It also contains preloaded software such as Microsoft's Microsoft Works 2000, Money 2000, Word 2000 and Encarta 2000.
