Short Take: Compaq Computer completes note tender offer

Compaq Computer received 98 percent of its outstanding $150 million 6.5 percent senior notes due March 15, 1999, and 97 percent of its $150 million in 7.25 percent senior notes due March 15, 2004, in connection with its just-concluded cash tender offer, according to a Reuters report. Compaq plans to pay $298 million, excluding accrued interest, for notes tendered. The offer expired May 22.
