Short Take: Compaq adds new, big LCD display

Compaq Computer has begun offering an 18-inch, flat-panel liquid crystal display for $3,100. The display, with a resolution of 1280 by 1024 pixels, works with Windows, Macintosh, and Sun Microsystems machines. Compaq also has begun selling a $1,199 15-inch 1024 by 768 LCD that can be pivoted to work in either a horizontal or vertical configuration.
