Short Take: Compaq, 3Com announce NIC partnership

3Com and Compaq Computer officially announced a partnership to deliver 3Com's network interface cards (NIC) via the PC manufacturer's configure-to-order program. The deal follows announcement of a networking partnership between Compaq and Intel last week. The new direct-sales program for PCs will debut at Compaq later this year.
