Cisco Systems stepped up its efforts to
gain a piece of the digital subscriber line (DSL) access pie, rolling out
10 new hardware products targeted at the service provider market. Among the slew of offerings are a variety of access concentrators for a communications firms' central office as well as several products--including modems and routing devices--targeted at a customer site. The DSL-based equipment is in trials now and will be available in the third quarter.
