Short Take: Christie's formalizes auction plans

In preparation for the launch of its online business in September, Christie's has named Andrew Schoelkopf president of a new unit, Christie's Internet Auctions. Schoelkopf was previously in charge of business development. The company said it will start by auctioning books and manuscripts, photographs, prints, and collectibles, and will strongly link its New York and London-based businesses to the online component.
