Short Take: Cheney resigns from EDS board

Electronic Data Systems today said that Dick Cheney has submitted his resignation from its board of directors to focus on his bid for the U.S. vice presidency. On Wednesday, Cheney, secretary of defense under former President George Bush, accepted the Republican nomination to be Texas Gov. George W. Bush's running mate. EDS said it has no immediate plans to announce a replacement.
