Short Take: CEO to leave Tele-Communications International

David Evans, chief executive of Tele-Communications International, has resigned to pursue "new career opportunities," the company said. Re-privatized in November, Tele-Communications International (TINTA) is the foreign unit of Liberty Media, the programming arm of cable operator Tele-Communications Incorporated. Evans, who joined the company in September 1997, will serve as a consultant until March. A replacement could be named as soon as next week, a spokeswoman said.
