Short Take: Calico, FirstFloor in merger

Sales software firm Calico Technology will merge with FirstFloor Software, a developer of interactive marketing systems, in a stock-only transaction. Calico, which booked about $20 million in orders last year and expects to double that in 1998, will be the surviving entity. Its CEO, Alan Naumann, will head the merged company, which positions itself as a provider of customer-facing enterprise applications. FirstFloor CEO Judith Hamilton will not join the merged operation.
