Short Take: Cable Net use passes 1 million mark

The number of high-speed cable Internet subscriber in North America has finally passed the 1 million mark, according to research firm Kinetic Strategies. Excite@Home dominates the market with about 620,000 subscribers, followed by Road Runner, with 340,000 subscribers. About 30 percent of all cable lines in North America have been upgraded to be able to handle cable Internet service, the research firm said.
