Short Take: CA readies network tool

Computer Associates says its new Java-based management front-end software tool that supports popular Web browsers has entered beta for the Unicenter TNG platform. The tool allows network managers to essentially take their management workstation wherever they go, using the browser interface to view the status of their network. Support also means TNG can manage a Java-based network, including JavaStations and Java applications. Browser views include the 3D look that was rolled out with TNG. The Java interface is expected early next year.
