Short Take: CA announces Apple alliance

In its second partnership announcement of the day, Computer Associates unveiled a new relationship with Apple Computer that will bring the company's Jasmine multimedia development and database technology to the Macintosh platform. Jasmine will integrate with Apple's "Yellow Box" object-oriented development technology that will be contained in Rhapsody, Apple's forthcoming operating system. CA will also integrate management of Mac OS and Rhapsody desktops into its Unicenter TNG enterprise management software platform. Apple hardware will also be able to be used as a Unicenter management console via the software's Web browser-based interface.
