Short Take: C-Port wins second round of financing

Startup chipmaker C-Port has secured $19 million from its second round of venture capital funding. Amerindo Investment Advisors has joined C-Port's initial investors Benchmark Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Charlers River Ventures. C-Port, which received $9 million from its initial round of funding, has also appointed Kurt Hoff as its vice president of sales. Hoff was previously vice president of worldwide sales for semiconductor firm Philsar Electronics.
