Short Take: Bookseller names tech partners

Barnes & Noble, the giant bookseller that expects to announce its online store tonight, will use Hewlett-Packard hardware and Microsoft software for its Web storefront. The site also will use agent software from Firefly Network to personalize book recommendations. Barnes & Noble also unveiled partnerships with Business Data Services, Interactive Bureau, and Reach Networks. The big bookseller also has an America Online storefront.
