Short Take: BellSouth nears completion of DSL rollouts

BellSouth said it is nearing completion of its asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) deployments, having rolled out the high-speed Net access service in 27 of its 30 target markets. The company expects to complete its deployments by the end of the year. Many industry observers have been critical of the speed at which companies have offered broadband technologies, particularly to the residential marketplace.
