Bell Atlantic and Telergy have agreed to jointly offer asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) data services to the Baby Bell's East Coast business customers--starting with Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York in early 1999. Under the deal, Bell Atlantic will provide high-speed data services within its regulated regions, with Telergy shuttling data between the Baby Bell's local areas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
