Short Take: Bay buys WLAN company
Bay Networks plans to acquire wireless local area network (WLAN) company Netwave Technologies for about $10 million. Netwave, which develops wireless connectivity products for PC users, said it shipped the first wireless LAN adapter fully integrated on a PC Card in 1995, and soon will ship products that support both IEEE specifications for wireless LAN technology, Direct Sequence, and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum.
