Short Take: Ariba names president of Japanese unit

Business-to-business software maker Ariba announced the appointment of longtime Japanese industry executive Kuniaki Watanabe as the new president of Ariba Japan. The former IBM executive worked most recently as president of Digital Equipment Japan and as president of i2 Technologies Japan. Ariba said Watanabe will help steer Ariba Japan as the company works to strengthen its leadership position in the Japanese business-to-business market.
