Short Take: Apple releases VideoPhone kit

Apple Computer will release its VideoPhone kit next week, the first videoconferencing product stemming from a collaboration with Netscape Communications. The software will be free of charge from Apple's Web site starting December 1 and will work with leading desktop digital cameras. VideoPhone requires a minimum of 28.8-kbps connectivity and allows users to share video, do whiteboards, and transfer files. The entire kit, including color camera, Mac OS system 7.5.5, and document-sharing software, will cost under $300.
