Short Take: AOL's largest investor sells 26 percent of its stock

America Online's largest single investor, the Capital Group Companies, has sold 26 percent of its shares, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. On January 7, the company had 12.8 million shares and on February 11 it reduced its holdings to 9.5 million shares, or 8.8 percent of AOL's common stock. The company says it is the third-largest mutual fund family in the country.
