Short Take: AOL sets date for browser release

America Online will release a trial version of Netscape's Communicator Web browser, version 6.0, on April 5 at the Internet World trade show in Los Angeles. AOL chief executive Steve Case will discuss the browser in his keynote address to the show. Communicator 6.0 is the long-anticipated successor to Communicator 4.7 and the first browser based on the open-source development of AOL-funded Mozilla.org.
