America Online hacker Nicholas Ryan, also known as "Happy Hardcore," has been sentenced to two years of probation and six months of home confinement under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. A federal district court in Alexandria, Virginia, fined Ryan a symbolic $50, acknowledging that he has already paid AOL $62,000 in restitution. Ryan created a program that let him use AOL for free.
