Short Take: American Lawyer launches daily A&M newspaper

American Lawyer Media (ALM) has launched a weekday newspaper and Web site, the Daily Deal, focused on corporate transactions and deal-makers. The print and online editions of the Daily Deal will deliver news and analysis to merger-and-acquisition specialists, executives, lawyers, venture capitalists, bankers, accountants, regulators, and lobbyists. ALM was formed in 1997 by U.S. Equity Partners, a private equity investment fund sponsored by Wasserstein Perella, an international investment bank.
