Short Take: AMD signs flash memory pact with Siemens

Advanced Micro Devices announced Tuesday a three-year agreement with Siemens Automotive, which makes electrical and electronics systems. Under the deal, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based AMD will supply its most advanced flash memory devices. "They are the only ones able to meet the tremendous demands of our extreme operating conditions," said Bernd Bremicker, Siemens' senior vice president of purchasing. Siemens is working on "engine management and driver information systems where the highest levels of reliability are critical," he added.
