Short Take: Amazon suffers second outage in two weeks

Amazon.com suffered a 15-minute outage this morning, the second such shutdown in the last two weeks, the company confirmed. Company spokeswoman Kay Dangaard said the outage occurred because of minor maintenance work being done to the site between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. PT. On Nov. 4, Amazon experienced two outages, one for about 30 minutes. The company declined to say what caused those outages, but Dangaard said the two incidents were unrelated.
